Who is the person behind the camera?
My name is Sierra Barela, I'm 28 years into this crazy life, and here's a few things you need to know: I am a strong believer in God, an animal lover, coffee obsessed, happily married to (seriously) the most patient man in the world, and I am a mom to a beautiful girl, who, absolutely, fuels my love for capturing your precious moments, but that's not where my love for photography began.
It's truly the tale as old as time, I started chasing sunsets with my flip phone at an early age, I quickly moved to capturing all the candid photos at family events. Soon enough, in early 2010, I saved enough of my allowance and bought a Nikon Coolpix. Naturally, I ran into the desert to test out my new amazing camera, taking pictures of Joshua Trees, various plants, and of course, my animals. Fast forward 6 years to 2016. In August of 2016, I suddenly lost my mom. I remember looking back and realizing I didn't have many photos with her, and just wished we had taken more together. I decided then, that I would be the person that makes that happen for other families. In 2020, my dream of being a photographer came true. I bought my first professional camera, and started my journey. Here we are 6 years later, and I have had the honor to photograph hundreds of families, couples, and so much more. When I say "It was such an honor to work with you," I quite literally mean that from the bottom of my heart.
